Black Teton Stag | Plain Toe

THE LEATHER

Black Teton Stag is derived from North American White Tail Deer and tanned by Gallun Leathers in Wisconsin — who have been in the tanning business since 1858, innovating novel approaches to calf, wild boar, and now White Tail Deer. Working from a non-heavy metal tannage for this leather has resulted in a soft, supple leather that exhibits the qualities you may know from buckskin, while unique changes to tanning bring out a more full-bodied leather. If you'd like a few more details about Teton Stag, read our Leather Notes about it here for more details.

This Black version is a struck-through black, which means it will remain black through its evolution, and any scuffs and scratches will blend more readily.

These exceptional hides embrace a rich variability. Like ramblers, kudu and horse rump we've run before, the boots will be one of a kind, with fluctuating levels of grain from pair to pair. Our skilled cutter specifically cuts each pair together, so that while the boots may vary within a run, each individual pair is beautifully matched.
